Summers are a great time to take a walk in the park while enjoying ice cream or to go for a swim and relax. As bright and pleasant as they are, they may not be the best time for the skin. The hot weather, dust, and humidity can cause it harm. Sweat, clogged pores, tanning, and redness are the common skin-related concerns some people face during this time.
In the natural healing practice of Ayurveda which dates back more than 5000 years, Face Packs were used to refresh and rejuvenate the skin. Tending to common skin concerns such as pigmentation, blemishes, and tanning, these Face Packs were made using ingredients like Saffron, Gram Flour, Rosewater, and raw Milk. As these Ayurvedic practices have been adapted to be used in the modern times, we now use Face Packs with the same ingredients that carry the Goodness of Nature to heal, protect, and nurture our skin.
For Reducing Scars and Blemishes
During summers, some people are prone to itchy skin, redness, and blemishes. Neem, Tulsi, and Vetiver, are known to treat these skin concerns naturally by cleaning the skin from the inside out and restoring its natural balance. While Neem is effective for treating irritated skin and healing scars from breakouts, Tulsi is known to reduce acne, blemishes and dark patches. Vetiver oil, which has an earthy and soothing fragrance, helps with clearing the face of acne marks and blemishes.
Neem also possesses strong anti-bacterial properties which keep the digestive system clean. One can drink Neem with water on a regular basis for cleansing the body.
To Refresh and Naturally Lighten
Summer and tanning go hand in hand, with the sun’s UV rays causing the skin to age prematurely. The beautiful flower Rose, with its Ayurvedic medicinal properties, helps brighten the skin, while the use of Lemon can help lighten tanning and clear the face of dead skin.
When mixed together, lemon and rosewater can be used to clean the pores and even-tone the skin. Possessing natural de-tanning and skin repairing properties, these ingredients help to refresh and revitalise the skin.
To protect your skin, apply a sunscreen with an SPF 30 before stepping out in the sun.
For a Natural Glow
Regular exposure to the sun can make your skin dull, making it look older than its actual age. While Pink Lotus is known to slow aging, thus moisturizing and hydrating dry skin naturally, one can use Saffron for a healthy complexion. Its anti-inflammatory properties protect and heal the skin.
Turmeric is known to naturally lighten the skin, lending it an instant glow. For its antiseptic properties, Turmeric is usually consumed with milk and can be taken daily to keep the joints and bones strong. The mixture, known as Golden Milk, also helps fight infections and allergies.
