Pre-wedding days are taxing! The preparations and planning can stretch for months and affect your health. Apart from getting ample sleep, following a healthy diet and taking good care of your skin, it is worth making some time for a good hair care regime.
While excessive chemicals and heat can cause a lot of immediate damage, there are natural and homemade solutions to help you in the long run.
1. Start Early
To see genuine results, incorporate your new hair care routine at least 6 months in advance. Homemade treatments take longer to show their effect, and thus, require sufficient time and commitment.
2. Create a Regime
Based on the length and type of your hair, start following a regime that works best for you. Make it a part of your daily routine and try following it regularly.
3. Have a No-Chemical Policy and Avoid Colouring
Chemical-based hair care and hair styling products give immediate results but harm your hair in the long run. Use home-made alternatives such as hair masks made of Honey, Lemon, Henna, Amla, Banana, Egg, Apple Cider Vinegar, etc. As appealing as it may sound, colouring can cause some serious hair damage including frizziness and hair loss. Use ingredients with natural colouring pigments. Mix them with Tea, liquor and coffee powder for a lasting effect.
4. Treat Hair problems Well in Advance
Too often we focus on aesthetics and forget to resolve some primary issues. To make your hair ready for the day, work towards fixing any recurring issues. If you are dealing with hair loss, rub a slice of lemon onto your scalp after oiling and leave it on for 30 minutes. You may also use Onion juice which is a great source of Antioxidant.
