Frizz occurs simply due to the lack of moisture in your hair. The matter worsens when the weather is humid and your hair seeks moisture from the air around it. While there are a number of factors that cause frizzy hair, you can keep them under control by remembering these simple tips.
How to Tame & get rid of Frizzy Hair
1. Use an Organic Shampoo
Look for an organic shampoo with moisturising ingredients that specifically take care of frizzy hair. Ingredients such as Honey, Hibiscus, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, and Shea Butter are rich sources of vitamins and minerals which provide deep hydration. Make sure that your shampoo contains authentic ingredients and is free from harsh chemicals such as SLS/SLES, Parabens, Silicones, artificial fragrances, and additives.
2. Avoid Styling Tools
Despite their convenience, the heat from hair styling tools such as curling irons and hair dryers strip away natural moisture. No matter how important the heat is, keep the temperature in your device to a bare minimum or try to grow out of these tools altogether.
3. Choose the right towel
Use a micro-fiber towel rather than a regular bath towel to dry your hair. It will help control frizz and damage. Pat or squeeze your hair and do not wring it out. On days when the humidity levels are high, tie or braid your hair before stepping out, to avoid frizz.
4. Oil and Condition
A regular Hair oil massage can work wonders to treat dryness and frizzy hair problems because it all boils down to the health of your scalp. Go for a lukewarm oil massage and leave it on overnight. Do this twice a week and wash off with a gentle SLS/SLES free Ayurvedic shampoo. Focus on the roots of your hair while massaging with the shampoo and avoid using too much of it. While using a conditioner, focus on the ends of your hair.
