Beauty Hacks in your 20s

Not many of us develop a proper skin care routine before our late 20s, mainly because our early 20s are supposed to be the time for experimentation. However, it is never too early to prepare for what might be. In this article, we round up 7 beauty hacks you must know in your 20s to spare yourself the trouble later.

Hydrate

The cheapest and easiest way to have glowing skin is to drink plenty of water. A lot of people like to start their day by having lots of water, sometimes with honey, lemon or apple cider vinegar. Either way, having 3-4 litres of water daily in any form will do wonders to your skin.

Get your Beauty Sleep

7-8 hours of daily sleep is an optimum sleep time for rejuvenation of our bodies and mind. It is advisable to squeeze in proper sleep as much as you can to make sure you are well-rested, so it shows on your face too.

Keep a Sunscreen handy

The effects of not using sunscreen in your 20s can reflect in your 30s by way of tan lines and skin discolouration. Never leave the house without applying a generous amount of sun-screen on your face and other exposed parts of the body. Use a sun-screen with high SPF to protect yourself from harmful UV rays of the blasting sun.

Use that favourite Lipstick

Wearing a red lipstick can give your face a natural pop and brightness. Everyone must have a go-to favourite lipstick to save their day or night. So, go find the right one for yourself, or try SoulTree’s Rich Earth, Deep Blush, or Copper Mine Ayurvedic lipsticks in various shades of red.

Don’t Pick at your Skin

The effects of doing this will become apparent years later in the form of red spots and blemishes getting formed on the face from the irritated scabs. If a breakout is concerning you, use a concealer, but instate a strict policy to not pick at the scabs on your face, else you will end up investing heavily in concealers later on in life!

Moisturise your Skin and Lips

Using a light moisturiser after bathing, in between the day and before bed can make your skin soft and smooth. Similarly, invest some time in scrubbing your lips every 2 days to remove dead skin and apply a lip balm regularly.

Know your Skin Type

Before you invest in any make-up, understand whether you have dry, normal, oily or combination skin. Any investment in make-up or skin care that you make, will be based on what your skin type is. Weather, climate and lifestyle can also affect your skin type, so make note of these changes.
