Dinacharya - The Vata, Pitta and Kapha Time of Day

The word Dinacharya originated from the Sanskrit language, and it is derived from two words, 'Dina' meaning day and 'Acharya' meaning activity. Significance of Four Pillars of Health

Dinacharya is living a routine life wisely, it is like choosing the right note to compose a melodious song. All the four pillars mentioned below have a major role to play in designing a healthy routine for you - Nidra, Ahar, Yoga and Ananda.

● Nidra means sleep; the human body needs sufficient rest to enhance the Ojas or energy in your body.
● Ahar - You become what you feed your body, nutritious and wholesome food nourishes the mind, body and soul.
● Yoga - Exercise deals with the purification and consciousness of the body. It helps your body heal from within. It boosts energy and endurance besides improving muscle strength.

Dinacharya Daily Cycles: Tune with Nature

Dinacharya channelizes the body clock and makes us self-aware. Ayurveda Dinacharya consists of two cycles - the Sun and Moon cycles, and it is further divided into 4 hours of Vata, Pitta and Kapha dosha. These energies are also present in our body in different combinations and intensities.

Sun Cycle: Sunrise to Sunset

● 6:00 am - 10:00 am - Kapha time of day
● 10:00 am - 2:00 pm - Pitta time of day
● 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Vata time of day

Moon Cycle: Sunset to Sunrise

● 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm - Kapha time of day
● 10:00 pm - 2:00 am - Pitta time of day
● 2:00 am - 6:00 am - Vata time of day
