6 Good Habits to spare your hair those winter woes

Static, Dryness and Frizz. You are all too familiar with these visible signs if you live in a place that experiences cold winters. Not only do your strands stand the risk of breakage, but the lack of moisture also makes your scalp dry and causes dandruff.

1  Oil and condition your hair

A regular oil massage can work wonders to treat dryness and frizzy hair problems because it all boils down to the health of your scalp. Go for a lukewarm oil massage and leave it on overnight. Do this twice a week and wash off with a gentle SLS/SLES free Ayurvedic shampoo. Focus on the roots of your hair while massaging with the shampoo and avoid using too much of it. While using a conditioner, focus on the ends of your hair.

2 Avoid styling tools

Despite their convenience, the heat from hair styling tools such as curling irons and hair dryers strip away natural moisture. No matter how important the heat is, keep the temperature in your device to a bare minimum or try to grow out of these tools altogether.

3 Do NOT wash your hair more than twice a week

Washing your hair too frequently can double the damage. Keep a gap of a maximum of 3 days between washes.

5 Let your hair dry before stepping out

Make sure that you have thoroughly dried your hair before stepping out into the winter cold. The shaft of your wet hair expands in the wintry air and becomes prone to breakage. You can also consider washing your hair overnight so that you are in no rush the following day. 


6 Hydrate!

Drink lots of water, every day, even when you feel that the weather does not call for it. Hydration begins from within and it can make your scalp healthier and boost hair growth.


Stick to these 6 tips and remember that the results do not reflect overnight. They also need your patience and commitment.
